Dual Modality Laser & Microphlebectomy Treatment

In the rare patient who is not suitable for sclerotherapy the same effect can be achieved by first using the Dornier 940 nm wavelength laser to treat the spider complexes and then interrupting the blue reticular feeding veins with Microphlebectomy technique. Under tumescent anesthesia a small needle is used to create an entry through the skin so that a specially designed instrument that resembles a crochet hook can be used to “hook” the vein and extract it. These fine veins are very elastic and 2 - 6 cm segments can be routinely retrieved without any discomfort
